MetaVie Ltd (“MetaVie”, “we”, “us” or “our”) develops and operates OddLab.
OddLab is a self-exploration product that uses Human Design as one of the frameworks through which users can explore personal patterns and perspectives. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process when you use OddLab, why we process it, how it may be shared, and the choices and rights available to you.
1. Information We Process
1.1 Birth information used to calculate your chart
To create a Human Design chart, OddLab asks you to provide information such as your date of birth, time of birth and birthplace.
We use this information to perform the chart calculation. Your original birth date, birth time and birthplace are processed for that calculation and are not retained as stored account or profile data after the chart calculation has been completed.
The Human Design chart data produced from that calculation is different from the original birth information. We may retain or cache the resulting chart data so that we can display your chart, allow you to continue exploring it, and provide personalised OddLab features without repeating the same calculation.
1.2 Human Design chart and exploration data
OddLab may store structured information representing your generated Human Design chart and your use of chart-related features: your type, strategy, authority, profile, defined and undefined centres, channels and gates, and the generated chart image.
We use this to display and maintain your chart, provide exploration features, generate personalised explanations and research-style content, generate personalised reports or videos, and maintain continuity in your OddLab experience. Where chart data is associated with your OddLab account, it is treated as account-linked data.
1.3 Account identifiers
OddLab uses Sign in with Apple for account authentication. We receive an authentication identifier that lets us recognise the same OddLab account when you sign in. We store that identifier only as a one-way hash, together with an internal OddLab user identifier. We do not store your name or email address.
We use these identifiers to operate your account, associate eligible content and purchases with the correct account, maintain Credits or entitlements, prevent duplicate transaction processing, provide customer support, and protect the security and integrity of the service.
1.4 Purchases and Credits
Purchases of digital items or Credits in the iOS app are processed through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. MetaVie does not receive or store your payment-card number or bank-account credentials.
We may receive and retain transaction identifiers, product information, purchase status and related records necessary to verify purchases, prevent duplicate crediting, maintain your Credit balance or entitlements, resolve transaction issues, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable legal or accounting obligations.
1.5 Generated content
OddLab may generate personalised explanations, reports, scripts, narration and videos based on your chart and the features you choose to use.
Generated content is private by default within OddLab and is not automatically published to a public OddLab feed. If you choose to download, export or share generated content through another platform or service, that service may process the content under its own privacy policy, which MetaVie does not control.
1.6 Communications and support
If you contact us for support or a privacy request, we may process the information you provide in that communication, such as your contact details, message and information necessary to investigate or respond.
1.7 Technical and diagnostic information
We process limited technical information reasonably necessary to operate, secure and troubleshoot OddLab, such as server request information, security events and error information. Where a request is rate-limited or checked for abuse, we use a hashed form of the network address rather than storing it directly. We do not use this information for cross-service advertising tracking. Information processed by our ad provider for rewarded ads is described in section 5.
2. How We Use Information
- providing and operating OddLab;
- calculating and displaying Human Design charts;
- providing personalised exploration features;
- generating reports, explanations, narration and videos requested by users;
- authenticating accounts;
- maintaining account state, Credits and entitlements;
- processing and verifying App Store purchases;
- preventing fraud, abuse and duplicate transactions;
- securing, maintaining and troubleshooting the service;
- responding to support and privacy requests;
- complying with applicable legal obligations;
- improving the reliability and functionality of OddLab where permitted by applicable law.
We do not use personal data for third-party targeted advertising, and the optional rewarded ads described in section 5 are non-personalized. We do not sell personal data. We do not use OddLab personal data for cross-app or cross-website advertising tracking.
3. AI-Powered Features
Some OddLab features use third-party artificial-intelligence service providers to generate personalised explanations, research-style content, scripts and narration audio.
When you use these features, we send the Human Design chart data and contextual information reasonably necessary to generate the content you requested.
By default, AI-generation requests do not include your Apple authentication identifier, OddLab internal user identifier, purchase history, payment information or original birth information. The request carries the structured chart result — such as type, strategy, authority, defined centres and channel count — and the text to be spoken, not the inputs used to calculate it.
If a future feature requires materially different information to be shared with an AI provider, we will provide appropriate information and obtain permission where required before that processing takes place.
Third-party AI providers process information on our behalf or in connection with providing the requested feature, subject to applicable contractual and privacy safeguards.
AI-generated content can contain errors or incomplete interpretations. OddLab’s generated content is intended for self-exploration and informational purposes and should not be treated as professional medical, legal or financial advice.
5. Tracking and Advertising
OddLab offers optional rewarded ads, supplied by Google AdMob. An ad is shown only when you actively choose to watch one in exchange for a generation you would otherwise pay for with credits. We never show ads automatically, on launch, between screens, or after a generation finishes.
These ads are configured as non-personalized. We do not use your OddLab information to target advertising, and we do not use personal data for cross-app or cross-website advertising tracking. We do not sell personal data to advertisers or data brokers, and your chart information, birth input and exploration content are never shared with the ad network.
To deliver a non-personalized ad, prevent fraud and limit how often an ad is shown, Google processes limited technical information such as device and advertising identifiers, coarse location inferred from IP address, and ad interaction data. That processing is carried out by Google as described in its own privacy documentation.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before ads are requested, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time from OddLab's settings. If you decline, no ads are requested and the credits path remains fully available.
You can turn the ad option off. Disabling it in OddLab's settings removes the ad-supported choice from the interface, leaving only the credits path. Watching an ad never earns credits; it unlocks a single generation without narration.
If we later enable personalized advertising or materially change these practices, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices, choices or permissions required by applicable law and platform rules — including any tracking permission required by Apple — before the new processing applies.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is processed, including providing OddLab, maintaining account functionality, verifying transactions, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, meeting legal or accounting requirements, and protecting the service. Different categories of information therefore have different retention periods.
- original birth date, birth time and birthplace are processed for chart calculation and are not retained as stored account or profile data afterwards;
- resulting Human Design chart data is retained while needed to provide your OddLab experience;
- account identifiers are retained while your account remains active and as otherwise necessary for legitimate operational or legal purposes;
- transaction records may be retained as necessary for purchase verification, fraud prevention, dispute handling and applicable legal or accounting obligations;
- support records are retained as reasonably necessary to resolve requests and maintain appropriate records;
- backup copies may remain for a limited period as part of normal backup and disaster-recovery processes before being overwritten or deleted.
Where we no longer need information in identifiable form, we may delete or anonymise it.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. These include access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, infrastructure security, data minimisation, storing account identifiers as one-way hashes, and restrictions on access to production information.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Data Processing
MetaVie Ltd is based in the United Kingdom, and some service providers used to operate OddLab may process information in other countries.
Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps designed to ensure that the transfer is made in accordance with applicable data-protection law and that appropriate safeguards are used where required. You may contact us if you would like further information about safeguards applicable to a particular transfer.
9. Legal Bases Where Applicable
Where applicable data-protection law requires us to identify a legal basis for processing, we rely on one or more of the following depending on the activity:
- Performance of a contract: where processing is necessary to provide OddLab or a feature you request.
- Legitimate interests: where processing is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain or improve the service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
- Legal obligation: where processing is necessary for us to comply with applicable law.
- Consent: where applicable law requires us to ask for your consent for a particular processing activity.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent as permitted by applicable law. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies to you, you may have rights relating to your personal data. These may include the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of certain processing, objection to certain processing, data portability where applicable, withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent, and the right to complain to an applicable data-protection authority.
These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances and legal basis for processing.
To make a privacy request, contact contact@metavie.co. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests in order to protect your account and information.
If you are in the United Kingdom, you also have the right to raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You may also have the right to contact the relevant privacy or data-protection authority in your country or region.
11. Account Deletion
You may delete your account from within OddLab, or contact us at contact@metavie.co.
When an account is deleted, we:
- irreversibly replace the stored authentication identifier so the account can no longer be signed into or re-linked;
- revoke active sessions and entitlements;
- delete your stored Human Design charts, the explorations generated from them, and their associated render records.
Transaction records are retained after deletion where necessary for purchase verification, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting and legal obligations. Information remaining temporarily in backups is handled through our normal backup lifecycle and is not used as active account data.
12. Children and Minors
OddLab is not designed specifically for children.
Users must meet any minimum age or consent requirements that apply in their country or region. Where applicable law requires consent from a parent or guardian for a young person to use a service or provide personal data, OddLab should only be used with that required permission.
If you believe that a child has provided personal data to OddLab contrary to applicable legal requirements, please contact us at contact@metavie.co so that we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
OddLab may interact with services operated by third parties, including Apple services and services you choose when exporting or sharing content.
When you independently use a third-party service, that service’s own terms and privacy policy govern its processing of information. This Privacy Policy applies to processing performed by or on behalf of MetaVie in connection with OddLab and does not control the independent privacy practices of third parties.
14. Automated Processing
OddLab uses algorithms and AI systems to calculate chart information and generate personalised content. These systems are used to provide self-exploration and content-generation features. OddLab does not use them to make solely automated decisions intended to produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as OddLab evolves, our service providers change, or legal and regulatory requirements change. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
Where a change materially affects how we process personal data, we will provide additional notice or request permission where required before the new processing applies.
